Privacy Policy
What we collect, how we use it, and how to reach us about your data.
Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Flip Ops (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Flip Ops service. It applies to accounts you create with us and to information processed through our websites and APIs.
What we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we and our authentication provider collect identifiers needed to authenticate you, which may include your name, email address, a password hash or identity-provider token, and a profile image. We do not store your password.
Usage information. When you use the Service we and our infrastructure providers collect technical information automatically, including IP address, user-agent string, request paths, timestamps, performance metrics, and error traces. We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Property and public-records information. The Service displays parcel, ownership, court, lien, code-enforcement, and similar information sourced from government public-records systems. This information is about properties and persons named in those records; it is not personal information about you as a Service user, and we do not treat it as such for purposes of this Policy.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use only the session cookies necessary to keep you signed in and a small amount of operational telemetry. We do not run third-party advertising cookies, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.
How we use information
- to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- to authenticate you and prevent unauthorized access;
- to monitor usage, debug, and detect abuse or fraud;
- to communicate with you about your account or material Service changes;
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the service providers we engage to operate the Service — for example, our authentication, hosting, database, mapping, and analytics providers — each of which processes information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations and consistent with this Policy.
We may also disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Flip Ops, our users, or the public, or to investigate possible violations of these Terms.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of substantially all of our assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this Policy.
Data retention
We retain account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. Operational logs and telemetry are retained for short windows before rotation. Public-records information is retained as long as it remains useful to the Service.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect information in our care, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest where supported by our infrastructure, scoped access tokens, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
Your choices
- Access and deletion. Email hello@olshall.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information. We respond within a reasonable time and may verify your identity before acting.
- Account closure. You may ask us to close your account at any time. We will delete your authentication record with our identity provider on closure. Public-records information shown by the Service is not personal to you and remains in our underlying database.
- Communications. Transactional email related to your account cannot be opted out of while your account remains active.
Children
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
International users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
State-specific rights
Depending on where you reside, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws — including, among others, the right to access, correct, delete, port, or object to processing of certain personal information. To exercise any such right, contact us at the email below.
Changes
We may update this Policy. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after the update constitutes acceptance.
